Maryland Tint Law & FAQs
What is the legal tint limit in Maryland?
For most vehicles, Maryland law requires a minimum of 35% light transmission on the front windows. To stay compliant, Carsology recommends installing a 50% film on factory glass which typically measures around 70% VLT, resulting in an overall reading near 35%.
How long does the film take to cure?
It takes approximately 3–5 days to fully cure. Avoid rolling your windows down during this time.
Can I use my defrosters after tinting?
If your front or rear windshield is tinted, avoid using defrosters until the film has cured completely.
How should I clean my tinted windows?
Do not use cleaners with ammonia. We recommend ammonia-free glass cleaners and soft microfiber towels.
What warranty do you provide?
Carsology provides a lifetime warranty on all films covering bubbling, peeling, and installation defects.
